Hey there,

My name is Stephanie, welcome to my Blog. I'm here to share in my journey of self discovery into the world of jewelry design.

So before we begin, a bit about myself. I am very new to blogging as I'm sure you can tell, I thought hey what the heck.  I have read tons of blogs and have always considered it. Asking myself, what would I blog about? What could I possibly offer you? Well, my journey of self discovery as a designer for one thing.

I started about 8 years ago, I was asked by a friend to make a bracelet that she had seen a pic of from a magazine. She knew I was a crafty sort, always trying my hand at something or another. So off to Michael's I went for supplies. And boy did I spend some dough. First it was just 20, then I had so much fun making that bracelet that I went back and dropped a hundred on beads, findings, wire and the like.

Needless to say, a monster was born!

For the next few years I made lots of pretty pieces, some ugly ones too, tried my hand at felt flowers, silk flower accessories, selling them at work and at home parties. Looking back at it now, they kind've sucked but my friends and collegues seemed to get a kick out of them and actually spent money on them. The flowers were trendy back then, you saw flower pins on jackets, on bags, in your hair, as well as clipped on your shoes. And look, they've come back around again. ha ha

The jewelry I created was good, but good is not great. They were very pretty even a few gourgoues ones, but not made that well. Over the years I have become much, much better. You know what they say about "Practice makes perfect?" Well it is sooo true!

So that brings us to where we are today.  I have just unpacked (for the umpteenth time) my craft room, after closing a little shop I had in town, moving, and having two sweet little babies ( 4 and 2). My family and I are finally settled enough that I can stay home with my babes and focus on my crafts.

I have spent some weeks going through pictures of pieces that I have done, and there are many!! What I have decided to do is to share with you those pieces, to do a before and after series. I'll show you what I had created several years ago, and then what I transform it into.

My first piece is a pair of pearl earrings, cute but not well made. LOL

I have a matching necklace and bracelet too, but we'll start with these.

Give me a few day's and I'll be back with the new and improved pair of earring. Hope you join me and thank you so much for reading my blog!!
